Bicycling in UtahSeptember 8, 2016 – To the Moon and Back, a century ride will be held on the beautiful roads near Tabiona and Wolf Creek Pass, Utah on September 10, 2016.

We asked organizer Karen Redden in 2015 to let us know more about the ride. (The ride details for 2016 are similar to 2015)

Cycling Utah: Tell us about the course. What sort of views will the riders see. What is Moon Lake like?

To the Moon: We are excited for Saturday.   The weather forecast is on our side and it should be a beautiful ride.   There is an adjustment in the century ride due to the last five miles of road is under construction to Moon Lake. We have a great alternate route for this ride. We will be turning west when arriving in Mt. Home and going to the beautiful dam at Rock Creek Reservoir which is on the south slope of the High Uintahs.   What I can say about the scenery is it is an outdoorsmen’s paradise.

Cycling Utah: What support and rest stops will you have?

TTTMAB: For the Century we will have five stops that will include lunch at the dam. The Half Century will include 3 stops and lunch.   After the ride there will be dutch oven style dinner. We will have four EMT’s on the route and several support people on the route.

Cycling Utah: The ride raises money for Rapha House. Can you tell us more about Rapha House?

TTTMAB: The ride raises money for trafficked children from the ages of 4 to 18 year olds. Rapha House #1 objective is to rescue these children and give them the counseling and education to become a successful adult.

Cycling Utah: Where can riders stay if they come up on Friday night? If they want to stay for the weekend, what sights should they see?

TTTMAB: Riders can stay at the Rodeo Grounds in Tabiona if they have an RV or Tent. There are restrooms on site. There is the Tabby Country Cabins or Fabrizio’s Over The Hill RV Park. Duchesne is also 30 miles away is Duchesne River Inn, Studio 6, and Winterton Suites.
