October 13, 2014 – Bike Utah, the state non-profit bike advocacy organization, is hosting a fundraising event on October 22, 2014. The event, titled ‘Love, Peace, and Chain Grease’, will raise funds to support Bike Utah’s advocacy efforts, including bike safety for children, and improved bike legislation.
Representative Johnny Anderson, (Taylorsville), will be speaking on bicycling’s place in transportation planning. Rep. Anderson has sponsored and passed several bike related bills in the Utah House over the last few years including improvements to laws regarding traffic signals and bikes, and a bill to add protections to cyclists and other vulnerable road users.
The event will take place at Celtic Bank, 268 S. State Street, suite 300 in Salt Lake City on October 22, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. A raffle will also be held for a Linus Bicycle from Salt Lake City Bicycle Co., a city bag from Tub, and outdoor gear from Patagonia. Appetizers and beverages will be served. Memberships to Bike Utah will also be available.
Tickets start at $50 and may be purchased here: http://www.bikeutah.org/fundraiser
