The Salt Lake County Bicycle Advisory Committee (SLCBAC), in 2013, Year of the Bike, reconfigured to meet evolving needs of bicyclists in the County. SLCBAC, with the help of interested community members, developed a Strategic Plan to help the County plan for future bicycle infrastructure, identify advocacy issues, and help promote economic development through bicycling . Chad Mullins, Chris Petersen and Lisa Graham, members of the pre 2013 SLCBAC, retired their memberships after helping the new members through the transition from then to now.
These past members built a solid foundation of bicycle advocacy to work with. And pre-2013 committee members imported the Bicycle Ambassador Program to Salt Lake County.
2014 SLCBAC plans include greater engagement with incorporated and unincorporated Salt Lake County communities and integration of its Strategic Plan to help guide all things bicycle at the county level. Salt Lake County community members are invited to get actively involved with the Salt Lake County Bicycle Advisory Committee. Bring ideas, suggestions, or concerns to the monthly meeting or visit the website bicycle.slco.org where you will find advocacy links, email contact, county updates, surveys, and more. The SLCBAC meets on the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 – 7:30 pm in room 1010 of the south building of the Salt Lake County Government Complex, 2001 S. State St., Salt Lake City.
