Marty Jemison, US Postal Service Cycling Team, took 28th overall at the prestigious Paris-Nice Stage Race, March 7-14. The Park City racer was 12:14 back of the race winner Michael Boogerd (Rabobank) of Holland.
Paris-Nice is an eight-day stage race that covers 1,354 km by its finish on the French Riviera. Jemison was the top American finisher.
Levi Leipheimer, Saturn, placed 5th overall at 2:55 in the Tour de Langkwai, Malaysia, a UCI 2.5 race, February 18-March 1.
Burke Swindlehurst, also of Saturn, competed but dropped out on Stage 9 after becoming ill.
Leipheimer also placed 3rd overall at the Sea Otter Classic at Monterey, CA, March 18-20.
Dave Zabriskie, Nutra-Fig, finished 8th overall with a 5th in the time trial stage and second in the espoirs competition (under 23) at the Redlands Bicycle Classic, March 1-7; Leipheimer was 9th overall.
On the women's side, Heather Albert, Canyon Spirit/Nissan, placed 2nd in the time trial stage and 4th overall at the Valley of the Sun Stage Race, February 19-21, Phoenix, Arizona.
