March 28, 2015 – Noreen Macbean, A 37 year old female cyclist was killed in Lehi, Utah on March 28, 2015 at around 10:30 am. According to Corporal William Silva of the Lehi Police Department, the woman was riding north on 1200 West at 2600 North in Lehi when she was hit by a semi-truck. Both the truck and the cyclist were traveling in the same direction. Detectives from the Lehi Police Department are investigating but don’t suspect any foul play nor do they believe that either the driver or the cyclist were distracted. It was not clear how the crash occurred and no fault has been assigned yet. The cyclist was riding with a large group of approximately 50 cyclists from the A Bloc Cycling club. She was riding with a partner at the time, but it is not clear if they were riding side by side or single file.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help her husband Allan Macbean with funeral expenses. Cyclists are encouraged to contribute and share: http://www.gofundme.com/qaggueec

1200 West in Lehi is a fairly narrow but well traveled industrial road, according to Corporal Silva. While it’s not known if there were shoulders where the accident occurred, the shoulders are apparently narrow or non-existent. The accident occurred just north of the train tracks on 1200 West.

Based on the information given to Cycling Utah, the accident appears to have happened here, just North of the railroad tracks: https://goo.gl/maps/CZR46
