August 3, 2015 – The Tour of Utah issued an update today that Tom Danielson has withdrawn from the 2015 Tour of Utah due to an adverse analytical A sample. Danielson won the Tour of Utah overall title in 2013 and 2014.

The Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team has notified the Tour of Utah that Tom Danielson has withdrawn from the 2015 race beginning Aug. 3. Danielson, a professional rider since 2004, won the Tour of Utah in 2013 and 2014. In a statement released by the Can nondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team: Tom Danielson notified Slipstream Sports that he was informed by USADA that he has returned an adverse analytical A sample using carbon isotope testing. In accordance with Slipstream Sports’ zero tolerance anti-doping policy, he has been suspended from competition, effective immediately. He awaits the results his B sample. Slipstream respects and will adhere to the process of the anti-doping authorities and will not comment further.
Danielson tweeted about this denying taking any banned substance and expressing his hurt and frustration:
