April 8, 2015 – In a statement released today, the organizers of Utah’s Nordic Valley Stage Race Pro XCT announced the cancellation of the race. The race was to be held at Nordic Valley Ski Resort in Eden, Utah May 8-10, 2015.
The promoters of the Nordic Valley Stage Race, set for May 9, are disappointed to announce that the event has been cancelled. Over the past few months, unforeseen circumstances caused us to shorten the event from a stage race to a one day race. Now we are faced with the reality that the event cannot take place as planned. With the issues facing the event, we have decided to cancel, rather than risk a later cancellation, which would further complicate racers’ travel plans. To those racers who were looking forward to the event, please know that we are deeply sorry. We’ve made every attempt to salvage the race, and have simply run out of options. All those who have already registered will receive a full refund. The organizers would like to thank USA Cycling and the UCI for their continued help and cooperation, and are working to bring Utah back into the Pro XCT series for 2016.
