February 7 — USADA has extended the deadline for Lance Armstrong to cooperate with USADA to help clean up cycling. Following his interview with Oprah Winfrey where Armstrong admitted to doping, he has offered to work with USADA.
“We have been in communication with Mr. Armstrong and his representatives and we understand that he does want to be part of the solution and assist in the effort to clean up the sport of cycling. We have agreed to his request for an additional two weeks to work on details to hopefully allow for this to happen, ” said Tygart.
USADA is responsible for the testing and results management process for athletes in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement, and is equally dedicated to preserving the integrity of sport through research initiatives and educational programs.
