  1. I have some pulmonary issues. Is Deer Valley of the Hight where this could be a problem? I am 74 years of age now and years ago was hit by a racing club rider At the time we were at sea level on PCH near Seal Beach, California. We was looking back behind him and not forward. I had slowed down do to the Club coming up, someone yelled on your left. I was right at sand level and couldn’t go any further right. I heard “Look out” and within seconds had been hit full force by rider coming up he was in a huge island marked area and had clear path to pass on my left. However he was traveling fast and had to time. Smack. He wound up breaking his pelvis and I wound up in UCI Emergency 9 days in coma, lung damage, surgery etc for around 30 days. I went to court and got into court 2 years later. In California the case law is you ride at your own risk, jog, walk and whatever at your own risk. My risk was over one million dollars. Stewart Title Insurance Company finally paid out $800,000.00. Because of this and a few other regular loses they closed their operation in Orange County, California. This self medical insurance cost was figured in to their decision.
